Grants and Contracts Details
Description
This task involves writing a legacy paper on the morphological evolution ofgalaxies hosting AGN in all of the CANDELS fields. This paper will present the consensus view on this issue by make use of all of the CANDELS imaging. AGN will be selected using a variety of methods, including X-ray, infrared and radio wavelengths. A wide range of redshifts will be covered, from the local Universe out to z-3. Morphologies will be determined through both visual inspection and quantitative morphology measures. To ensure a fair comparison of low and high redshift AGN, ACS images will be degraded via PSF convolution to match the resolution of the CANDELS WFC3 imaging.
Morphologies will be determined on the ACS or WFC3 imaging depending on the redshift of each galaxy.
