County-Level Analysis of Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Data

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

For a cost not to exceed $36,000, including a maximum of 10% overhead, the University of Kentucky research team led by W. Jay Christian, PhD (UK) will undertake Stage II Small Area Analysis of Kentucky Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (KY-BRFSS) Data. This will entail application of the methodology developed for is (Stage I, completed project under contract with Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH), documented in a previously-submitted report), to analyze current Kentucky BRFSS data, and to prepare tables to be used for presentation of county-level results on kentuckyhealthfacts.org website. 1. For those KY- so rare as to give unstable prevalence rates) UK will compute the three year average rates for all the counties ( methodology developed in Stage I of this project. Where variables in Attachment A are not asked annually on KY-BRFSS, estimates will be computed if two or more years of data are available. Using the three most recent years (2017-2019) of available KY-BRFSS data, UK will provide prevalence estimates with 95% confidence intervals for the health behaviors and conditions listed in Attachment A, for each the following geographic areas of Kentucky: Counties County groups (as developed in the 2013 contract) Health department districts, and single-county health departments with sufficient KY-BRFSS respondents to produce stable prevalence estimates Area Development Districts (ADDs) State-wide
