Description
The Health Resources Services Administration has provided CARES Act funds to support the following activities.
1. Development of an online course for BSN students and registered nurses to enhance their knowledge and skills on using telehealth in primary care during the COVID 19 pandemic.
a. A laptop, webcam and headphone to provide better sound quality for voice over PowerPoints and communication with students
2. Using standardized patients for simulation to improve students’ skills in performing telehealth visits.
3. Enhance clinical skills of BSN students enrolled in the Primary Care Enrichment Program on the use of telehealth during their clinical immersion experience in southeastern Kentucky.
4. Provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleaning wipes for BSN students enrolled in the Primary Care Enrichment Program.
5. Enhance the knowledge of BSN students and practicing RNs on screening, testing and supportive care for individuals during the COVID 19 pandemic.
6. Enhance knowledge and skills of BSN students and practicing RNs on screening for depression and providing guidance for individuals via telehealth who have been in quarantine during the COVID 19 pandemic.
7. A consultant for evaluation of the program.
