Description

Demonstrating Your Data: An Evidence- based Practice Curriculum for School Librarians Abstract The three-year, “Demonstrating Your Data: An Evidence-based Practice Curriculum for School Librarians” project focuses on advancing secondary school librarians'' evidence-based practices (EBP), and will result in a free, easily accessible and widely distributed online professional development (PD) curriculum that will equip secondary school librarians to collect, analyze, integrate, and share evidence of practice in practical and sustainable ways. During Year One, the project team conducted focus group interviews to provide data about school librarians’ existing practices, needs, and challenges in relation to collecting, using, and sharing evidence of practice. During Year 2, the project team is preparing an asynchronous professional development EBP curriculum, and in Year 3, three diverse cohorts of school librarians will pilot the curriculum and provide feedback that results in curriculum revision. This nationwide project will ultimately lead to improved school library practice and has the potential to impact countless secondary students and teachers.
