Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Field trials will be conducted to evaluate various strategies for managing glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth and marestail. One site will be located in the Purchase area where Palmer amaranth is present. The emphasis of this trial will be to evaluate options involving multiple sites of action. A second site will be located in Central Kentucky that has a known history of poor marestail control with glyphosate. As with other studies on herbicide resistant weeds, a major focus will be to evaluate options involving multiple herbicide mechanisms of action. Therefore, various soybean genetic traits (e.g. RR-soybean variety, LL-soybean variety, etc...) will be planted in randomized large blocks for comparison of different marestail control programs.
