Developing Health Journalism Across the Commonwealth

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Abstract This grant will fund the operations of Kentucky Health News, a publication that covers health care and health in Kentucky with the goals of raising awareness of, and addressing, the systemic issues that contribute to the poor health status of Kentuckians; and to develop leadership in journalistic coverage of health issues in all areas of the state. Most of the work will be performed by a part-time reporter/editor, with supervision from the director emeritus, then the director, of the Institute for Rural Journalism, acting as publisher. The Institute’s administrative coordinator will work three hours a week updating the KHN WordPress site and doing occasional copyediting.
