Description

The purpose of this project is to enhance the ability of Extension specialists to educate Kentucky growers on managing h erbicide-resistant weeds such as horseweed (Conyza canadnesis), Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri) and waterhemp (Amaranthus rudis) in soybeans in Kentucky. Emphasis will be placed on field research at key locations to evaluate various herbicide options and new technologies. Information from these research projects will be utilized in educational activities including field days, grower meetings, and dealer workshops. During the first year, funds from this grant will be used to support two part-time workers and travel expenses associated with research and educational activities. Also, Extension specialists will develop a publication on the fundamentals of managing herbicide - resistant weeds in soybeans Kentucky.
