Disparate Risk and Burden in the Student Loan System

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Abstract: This proposal is for research to identify and analyze the ways in which the student loan system imposes differential risks and burdens on students who borrow to finance higher education. We will demonstrate the ways that these risks and burdens, many a function of implicit or explicit policy design, present significant barriers to the academic and labor market achievement of low SES and racially/ethnically minoritized students.
