Description

1) Determine survival rates, home range dynamics, and disperal patterns of subadult bears, 2) Determine habitat use patterns and relate those to habitat characteristics at the local and landscape levels, and 3) Document post-release movement patterns of translocated nuisance bears and relate those to land management practices and landscape features. 4) Determine habitat characteristics that facilitate and hinder black bear dispersal from occupied range to vacant range in eastern Kentucky.
