Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SP ARCS) The University of Kentucky's Center on Trauma and Children (award recipient) agrees to the following: • The award recipient will coordinate with trainers from the Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SP ARCS) program by assisting with the planning stage, or the SP ARCS assessment of the Department of Juvenile Justice's readiness to administer the SP ARCS intervention. • The award recipient will host and coordinate this three session learning collaborative, including technical assistance teleconferences and clinical consultation conferences between onsite learning sessions. • The award recipient will prepare learning materials and coordinate travel for all trainers and/or technical assistance providers. The SP ARCS (Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress) program is a strength-based group intervention specifically designed to address the needs of chronically traumatized adolescents who may still be living with ongoing stress and are experiencing problems in several areas of functioning. Overall goals of the program are to improve coping skills/ reduce impulsivity, enhance self-efficacy, connect with others/ improve relationship, cultivate awareness, and create meaning. The SP ARCS program is based on three empirically-informed interventions including: • Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents • Trauma Adaptive Recovery- Group Education and Therapy (TARGET) • School-Based Trauma/ Grief Group Psychotherapy Program The SP ARCS program typically consists of sixteen 1-hour group sessions guided by a manual with re-usable materials. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Based Therapy (TF-CBT) Training The University of Kentucky's Center on Trauma and Children (award recipient) agrees to the following: • The TF-CBT training will be delivered by the award recipient for 20 people at the UK CTAC in Lexington and will include two clinical consultation calls. • The costs below include training materials, a copy of the TF-CBT book for each participant and space.
