Description
We will carryout HPLC-EC studies of postmortem tissues from animal models of
Parkinson's disease that are associated with the project from MUSC, directed by Dr.
Lotta Granholm. Frozen samples will be sent to UK by FedEx and the samples will be
processed for HPLC-EC and analyzed for monoamines and metabolites. The
compounds measured will include DA, DOPAC, HVA, NE, 5-HT and 5-HIAA. These
studies are being carried out in conjunction with the Morris K. Udall Parkinson's Disease
Research of Excellence at UK, which specializes in developing new treatments for
Parkinson's disease and determining the pathophysiology of this neurodegenerative
disease.
