Description
OBJECTIVES: The objective of this project is to identifY best practices for intemet
applications that are used in the vehicle regulation industry, including interactive tools for Q and
A, tax/fee payment, permitling, license renewals, plate/decal renewals and other applications that
will allow more productive, customer focused transactions with users. Further, it is anticipated
the study focus will enable creation of an online, real-time system that will allow customers with
internet capability to avoid lengthy waits for information and services. The research effOli is
also expected to establish a closer working relationship between the Kentucky Department of
Vehicle Regulation (DVR) and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Office ofInformation
Technology to fully suppOli the DVR's efforts to maximize public usage of their internet
applications.
