Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Boston-based organization, Jobs for the Future (JFF), has worked in multiple states over the last dec-ade to develop and implement a wide range of secondary school designs, such as early college schools and dual enrollment pathways. These models help prepare all students—particularly low-income youth, first-generation college goers, and other young people underrepresented in higher education—to suc-ceed at the postsecondary level. JFF is now working in Kentucky and has forged relationships with vari-ous constituencies, including the Kentucky Department of Education, the Council on Postsecondary Edu-cation, and the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. As part of this initiative, the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at the University of Kentucky will help explore and develop fi-nancial strategies using public investments to start-up, implement and sustain these designs.
