Description

To support the Kentucky Division of Waste Management’s effort to complete its solid waste management plan, the Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky (CEDIK) housed at the University of Kentucky proposes the following activities and deliverables. CEDIK Activities • Coordinate with the KYDWM team to fully develop the scope of the plan • Identify key partners and stakeholders who can either contribute or provide feedback on the circular economy plan • Determine the necessary data, and means by collecting data, to support the identification of priorities, goals, and activities • Facilitate the planning process including: o Identifying the issues, challenges, and opportunities o Articulating the values and vision that serve as the foundation of the plan o Creating goals and action items and an implementable workplan for each goal • Compile the final report • In addition, CEDIK will conduct an economic impact analysis of solid waste management in Kentucky. This separate study will include the total impact from the state’s public and private waste management infrastructure, recycling programs, and waste haulers, captured as employment, wages, and revenues
