Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Emerald ash borer is of particular concern to Kentucky because 1) ash trees are a
major component of the urban/suburban landscape and 2) lumber and wood products are
among Kentucky's top export products. Educational materials will be provided to
county extension offices, nurseries, garden clubs, and the public to foster
increased awareness of Emerald ash borer as a potentially devastating pest in
Kentucky. A small-scale trapping program will be conducted in the Louisville,
Lexington, and Covington areas to implement early detection of Emerald ash borer.
