Description

A survey of the current and future strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the energy and support industries in the region will be conducted. This will include gathering both published data as well as collection of information from primary (first person) sources via surveys, interviews, focus groups, and fieldwork. Information gathered will include data about the following: Regulatory Impacts Financial Setting and Outlook Impact of Technology Innovations Impact of Current and Planned Increases to Energy Efficiency Impact of the state of entrepreneurship as it relates to fossil fuels and alternative energies Interest and Capacity for Alternative Energies within the region Workforce Needs, which are under evaluation from state agencies and manufacturing interests. Other considerations include Transportation, Logistics, and Export Potential Mr. Copley will assist in the development of questions to be utilized in the focus groups that will be interviewed prior to the formal surveys being administered. The focus groups will be used to help narrow the formal survey and provide additional insight for the formalization of the questions.
