Description

A primary objective for the educational portion of this project is to create interest and opportunities for youth, parents, and consumers to learn about the interactions of genetics and environmental factors within animal food production contexts; with the intent to assist this audience in making informed consumer decisions regarding the implications to global food security. to deliver the educational content, learner-centered, online modules will be developed and implemented which are both challenging and engaging. The culmination of these modules will lead to a holistic competitive environment known as the Global Food Security Challenge. Developed modules will allow students to regulate their learning utilizing three cognative domains: declarative knowledge, conceptual/procedural knowledge, and situational knowledge.
