RFP: The Council of Graduate Schools/TIAA]CREF Enhancing Student Financial Education The University of Kentucky Graduate School proposes a comprehensive set of programs and events on topics of student financial skills as part of its larger Student Success initiative 2013-15. The grant is an opportunity to educate our graduate students about their own financial choices, while at the same time preparing Teaching Assistants and students in the Preparing Future Faculty Program to understand the financial issues of their future students. We will develop an online module on financial competency for incoming students and their parents; create a curriculum for residence hall advisors to use in floor meetings for first year students, with training provided by graduate students in the Preparing Future Faculty Program at UK; introduce a training module for University-wide TA Orientation in August and January (Understanding Undergraduate Student Financial Issues) and for Directors of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies (Advising Students in Tough Financial Circumstances); and other activities
