Tick Surveillance Project - Dr. Reddy Palli
7/1/24- 6/30/2026
Abstract
The purpose of this project is for the University of Kentucky (UK) Entomology Department to serve
as the primary source for collection, speciation and virology testing of ticks in Kentucky. Emerging
vector-borne diseases are a serious threat to public health. Without ongoing, continued
surveillance, the Commonwealth will not be able to detect or respond to this emerging infectious
disease threat. Support for state entomologist position is also included in this agreement.
