Description
This contract with the Kentucky Department for Public Health will fund a University of Kentucky faculty member and a graduate student, both from the Department of Epidemiology, to train Kentucky state employees to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for epidemiological analysis. Besides contributing to development of basic competency with ArcGIS 10, the industry standard GIS software package, the training will prepare attendees to conduct their own spatial analysis of human diseases and/or risk factors using examples from Kentucky. The training will include two live sessions and several self-guided PowerPoint tutorials covering multiple techniques.
