Evaluation and Update of Kentucky's Strategic Highway Safety Plan

The objectives will be to conduct an overall evaluation of the status of each SHSP emphasis area and to document goals and objectives accomplished and strategies implemented. In addition, an update of the 2012 SHSP will be prepared to include emphasis area statistics for the years 2012 and 2013. A preliminary task will be to support the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety in the development of an “Impaired Driving Strategic Plan”. The evaluation will focus on those goals and objectives included in the 2012 SHSP update (refer to “Toward Zero Deaths-Kentucky Strategic Highway Safety Plan 2011-2014”), which are measurable and time-based. Crash and other data will be collected and summarized for 2012 and 2013 to supplement data presented in the 2012 SHSP update for the years 2005 through 2011. All updated data and emphasis area information will be documented and incorporated into Kentucky’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan
