Description

The purpose of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness ofthe Clark and Madison Counties Juvenile Drug Courts. During the 2006-2007 fiscal year, an in-depth process evaluation will be conducted in which the following data will be collected: (a) interviews with Drug Court team members, (b) focus groups, (c) participant observations, and (d) records abstraction. This process evaluation will provide essential feedback to improve the quality and efficiency of the juvenile drug court program. It will provide useful summaries that will help guide the operations of the court by monitoring the services delivered each month, average length of time in juvenile drug court, participant flow rates (including admissions and discharges, and comparing this to the total capacity served by the court), urinanalysis results, during-program arrests, average school attendance rates, and the amount oftreatment provided to each participant. In addition to this, specific analyses will be conducted to determine ifthe drug court is meeting its specified goals, reaching its intended target population, and complying with the terms of the grant award.
