Evaluation of Kentucky Tech Prep, 2001-2002 to 2005-2006 School Years

The College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership Studies, University of Kentucky, submits this proposal for a five-year evaluation of Kentucky Tech Prep programs, extending from 2001-2002 through 2005-2006 school years. This proposal is in response to the Request for Proposal (RFP) for an evaluation of the statewide Kentucky Tech Prep programs. The scope of work will include assessment of Tech Prep outcomes in Kentucky schools for meeting student needs and their development of technical skills and core academic knowledge, integrating instruction of academic and technical education, articulating secondary and post-secondary technical programs, developing career pathways, accounting for the transition of students from secondary to postsecondary career fields, identifying best practices and obstacles experienced in Tech Prep implementation, implementing instructional strategies for career preparation of special populations, working with business and industry for career proficiency, and identifying outcomes of Tech Prep implementation. Results of this evaluation will be produced in a four-color publication with 1,000 copies made available for distribution. The project will extend from November 1, 2006, to June 30, 2007.
