Expanding Public Health Services

Abstract - Protection & Advocacy Disability in Higher Education Kentucky P&A and HDI are part of the state developmental disability network, working together in recognition that inequities in education, employment and health outcomes for people with disabilities have long been pervasive issues in Kentucky. This initiative will use higher education as a lever to build the public health workforce capacity and address social determinants of health for students with disabilities in higher education. The P&A Disability and Health in Higher Education project will: 1 - Build leadership opportunities for public health students and interdisciplinary students with disabilities in higher education. 2 - Develop and deliver content to students with disabilities in higher education. 3 - Provide community outreach and engagement through information sharing.
