I propose the development of a case study that qualitatively illustrates what happens when a state-wide, public television station partners with a university audio-visual archives to digitize 35 years of analog video assets and establishes a system for managing the resulting digital assets. This research will outline the issues involved in setting up such a digital conversion project, what lessons are learned throughout the process, what changes in culture are necessary to implement a digital asset management system and how archival theory can impact such a project.
