FHWA/LTAP Technology Transfer Assistance to Local Agencies

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The mission ofthe Technology Transfer Program (T2) ofthe Kentucky Transportation Center is to promote efficiency by presenting state-of-the-art technology for application by governmental agencies and the private sectors that assist in the design and construction of our transportation system. The Technology Transfer Program conducts training sessions, maintains a lending library (including audio-visual, electronic and print materials), and offers technical assistance on site and through its toll-free telephone service. A quarterly newsletter keeps agencies and others informed of Technology Transfer activities. This work plan and budget was developed by the T2 staff and reflects customer demands expressed through workshop evaluations, telephone calls, face-to-face discussions and at public meetings. Because of the customer-driven nature oftechnology transfer, additional projects can be expected and can alter previously set priorities. This work plan is detailed around the four focus areas ofthe LTAP Program: Safety, Infrastructure Management, Workforce Development, and Organizational Excellence. To deliver technology in all ofthese focus areas, we use our lending library, our publications unit, technical assistance and training.
