FRT 219, Implementation of Guardrail Extraction and Characterization Software Utilizing KYTC Photolog Data

A proof of concept machine learning software solution has been developed to detect and quantify guard rail presence utilizing existing KYTC photo log files along three different five-mile-long highway segments within district three. The next phase of this project is to apply this software solution to a statewide video log file maintained by KYTC, and to develop a statewide map of existing guardrail presence using photolog files from 2013 to present.
