Abstract
FRT 245, Rapid Shear Strengthening of PC Girder Bridges in Accordance with
AASHTO Specifications
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) proposes to use CatStrong Carbon
Fabrics to retrofit shear deficient Prestressed Concrete (PC) girders in 20 bridges (10
pairs of parallel bridges). The objective of this project is to carry out the retrofit
design; CFRP and adhesive material specification, procurement, application
supervision; retrofit monitoring following construction; and reporting.
