Description
The purpose of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWFJ) Future of Nurse Scholars grant is to fund
two PhD students to complete their doctoral degree in 3 years. RWJF will provide $75,000 per student
over three years. The college of nursing will provide an additional $50,000 per student over three years
for a total of $125,000 per student over three years. The funds will be used provide a yearly stipend of
$22,000, tuition of $11, 500, and additional $8,111 for miscellaneous expenses and research support.
We will use the fellowships to recruit and fund two high quality students to study full time in the PhD
program. Student will work close with a funded research mentor in the college of nursing and have a
mentor from another discipline in the university. RWJF will offer additional enrichment opportunities to
develop leadership skills.
