Description
This project ensures the National Animal Health Network (NAHLN) capabilities and capacity of the UKVDL in addressing an adverse animal health event, such as may occur with an emerging disease detection or foreign animal disease outbreak. The UKVDL will provide a secure electronic communication system, support a quality system, provide adequate biosafety and biosecurity, and support laboratory and administrative personnel. Funds will be spent on equipment to increase the laboratory''s testing capacity, enhance quality management support, and provide technical support to increase foreign animal disease diagnostic capabilities and capacity. Farm Bill funding will support personnel.
