Description

The University of Kentucky (UK) "Institute for Maternal and Child Health Education and Training (MCH Institute)" at the UK College of Public Health (CPH) shall provide the leadership and staff to develop and establish the Kentucky Center for the Prevention of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, a resource center for Maternal and Child Health professionals across the state, which will include providing resources and guidelines for building evidence-based and best practices to address this public health epidemic. The project includes establishing a multidisciplinary Committee of Experts, who will to develop and approve Kentucky-specific guidelines regarding primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. UK shall: 1. Conduct on-going activities to establish and maintain the Kentucky Center for the Prevention of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) at the College of Public Health MCH Institute. These activities shall be overseen by a recognized national expert in Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome on the faculty at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health (these services will be provided as in-kind to the project.) The project will be directed by a faculty of the College of Public Health MCH Institute with at least .1 FTE effort.
