Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The purpose of this contract is to support the collaborative dental public partnerships, i.e. the Kentucky Oral Health Network between the Department for Public Health (DPH) and the University of Kentucky Research Foundation (UKRF) Colleges of Dentistry and Medicine. The level of oral disease and conditions in Kentucky is at epidemic levels. Providing preventive comprehensive dental services and health promotion activities at an enhanced level shall decrease the prevalence and incidence of oral disease and conditions among the citizens of the Commonwealth. The University of Kentucky's College of Dentistry (UKCD) has a trained and experienced workforce to provide a level of services that can enhance the oral health of Kentuckians. Partnership activities include dental outreach by UKCD, the support of the ongoing KIDS Smile and Title V Varnish Expansion Programs and the analysis of their work on dental decay in the populations they serve.
