Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) received two grants from the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to work with health systems to implement
evidence-based interventions and supporting strategies to increase cancer screenings
and to conduct quality improvement learning collaboratives. This work will include
working with health systems including Federally Qualified Health Systems and clinics
who provide services and primary care including colon cancer screening opportunities.
Additionally, DPH received funding to implement colon cancer screening for people who
are uninsured and underinsured. Utilizing electronic health records to develop maximum
opportunities to identify and navigate these persons to colon cancer screening in order
to prevent cancer will reduce the burden and mortality of colon cancer in Kentucky.
