University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children TRAUMA INFORMED CARE FOR RESOURCE PARENTS DISSEMINATION PROJECT Scope of Work for FY 23 Ginny Sprang, Ph.D. (PI) July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 Modified October 5, 2021 For FY 2023, the University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children (CTAC) will provide 4, 2-day virtual train the trainer events to create DCBS capacity to deliver the Caring for Children Who Have Experienced Trauma: Resource Parent Workshop curriculum across the Commonwealth. Regions targeted for training will be determined by DCBS according to need and availability of trauma champions to support effective implementation (foster parent and staff trainers). One implementation workshop sessions will also be held virtually to support established trainers in incorporating the new hybrid (video-facilitated discussion) training format. Additionally, video segments will be recorded for the two optional models (Module 7- Trauma Informed Advocacy & Module 8- STS and Self Care) and hybrid presentations developed for each. These will be presented in the implementation consultation sessions as well. UK trainers will be responsible for preparation and delivery of content, preparing and distributing training materials, evaluation of the trainee proficiency in the content and consultation to trainees throughout the year. UK will also actively consult with DCBS leadership to enhance implementation. The principal investigator will be Ginny Sprang, Ph.D., and the training team will consist of Masters and Ph.D. level trainers with expertise in this curriculum. Production and delivery of a three hour Secondary Traumatic Stress training that will be delivered live, and then modified, produced and archived on a platform of the sponsor’s choosing for asynchronous training.
