CPE has received funding from the Lumina Foundation to be used by The Kentucky Student Success Collaborative (KYSSC) to deepen understanding of student basic needs services,
processes, policies, and experience focusing on food security, housing security, and financial stability at diverse college and university campuses in Kentucky and their impact on the student
experience and outcomes.
Institutions will participate in a qualitative research project from October 2022 – April 2023 that will include conducting an asset map of campus and community services, interviewing campus administrators, and conducting focus groups with students.
CPE requested three four-year institutions to provide faculty researcher(s) to lead the qualitative research project. All three project members will be involved in conceptualization, development, and reporting of the research, but primary responsibilities for implementation will be divided as follows: Project logistics, equity audit of campus assets, collaboration with Trellis Company-University of Louisville; Administrator and student interviews-University of Louisville, University of Kentucky Research Foundation, Eastern Kentucky University; and Dissemination- University of Louisville, University of Kentucky Research Foundation, Eastern Kentucky University.
