Abstract
The Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH), Division of Women’s Health,
Kentucky Family Planning program receives a Title X federal grant funding stream from the
Office of Population Affairs (OPA), to implement the Kentucky Family Planning Program
(KFPP). The Kentucky Family Planning/Title X program is authorized by the Public Health
Service Act through the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act of 1970.
For more than 50 years, Title X family planning clinics have played a critical role in assuring
access to a broad range of family planning and related preventive health services for
millions of low-income or uninsured individuals and others. Title X is the only federal grant
program dedicated solely to providing individuals with comprehensive family planning and
related preventive health services.
KDPH shall contract with University of Kentucky Research Foundation, a Kentucky
hospital based not-for-profit corporation to provide family planning services targeting
the uninsured, underinsured, & underserved residents throughout the Commonwealth.
Agency serves Fayette County (and other counties throughout the commonwealth) in the
Bluegrass Central region of Kentucky. This contract will increase access to family planning
services, in addition to providing comprehensive health care and nurture a medical home
for residents in central Kentucky.
