Description
ABSTRACT
The University of Kentucky Healthcare (UKHC) and University of Kentucky Infectious Diseases
(UKID) aim to address the intertwined challenges of opioid use disorder (OUD) and infectious
diseases associated with injection drug use through a comprehensive program. This initiative,
anchored within the Bluegrass Care Clinic (BCC), integrates FDA-approved Medications for
Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD) alongside Wrap Around Services (IDWAS). The multidisciplinary
team, comprising various medical professionals, administrative staff, and support specialists, will
provide a continuum of care from substance use evaluation and harm reduction education to
clinical treatment and ongoing support, targeting infections such as HIV and Hepatitis.
