Abstract
The Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program is a state-mandated program
pursuant to KRS 211.647 and KRS 216.2970 to provide surveillance, monitoring, and support to
families for children diagnosed with hearing loss and those at risk of developing hearing loss. In
support of these efforts, the EHDI program is a recipient of funding from a cooperative agreement
from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This cooperative agreement provides
funding for states and territories to conduct data analysis and evaluation activities to improve the
data collection system in each state/territory. The University of Kentucky College of Public Health
will provide data analysis for the Kentucky EHDI program, Advisory Board, and other stakeholders;
provide data analysis and preparation of fact sheets and reports for dissemination; assist with
evaluation plan development and implementation and the data management plan where needed;
and collaborate with CDC to conduct detailed analysis on patient-level data to identify trends and
gaps.
