gARTening: an After-School Program for StudentsEnrolled in the Extended School Program throughout Fayette County

The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky is seeking support for gARTening, an afterschool program for students enrolled in the Extended School Program throughout Fayette County. The program will include a PowerPoint introduction to public sculpture made from found or reused materials and information about the artists who make them, tours of sites which include public sculpture (The Kentucky Horse Park, downtown Lexington, and The Art Museum) and, for some students, a hands]on project to collaboratively design, fabricate, and install a work of art in a public space.the garden at William Wells Brown Community School.
