Genetics Clinic

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The University of Kentucky shall be providing the following services as required by KRS 211.180: detection, prevention and control of diseases including chronic and degenerative diseases. There are only two centers that provide genetic services in Kentucky. The geographic layout of Kentucky makes it difficult for individuals/families that are in need of genetic services to access those two sites. This contract improves access to genetic services for all citizens. UK shall provide genetic services to residents in central and eastern Kentucky through center-based and outreach clinic sites. UK shall provide educational training to increase knowledge and awareness of genetics to health care professionals.
