Germline sequence resources & analyses in a vertebrate model that undergoes PGR

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

We will provide computational and genomic support for characterization of the lamprey germ line genome. Specifically, we will perform assembly and analysis of germ line genome sequence data and map germ line sequence (assembly and reads) to the somatic assembly to discover specific sequences that deleted by programmed rearrangement and target recombination sites that mediate deletion. We will also identify, purify, sequence, assemble and FISH map 6 BAC per year in order to validate components of the genome assembly and structural differences between germline and soma.
