Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Dr. Bieberich (Co-Inv.) has a long-standing collaboration with Dr. Yu (P.I.) on the function of glycolipids for neural development. He discovered that N-glycosylation, the post-translational modification of particular enzymes in glycolipid biosynthesis, is critical for the composition of glycolipids on neural stem cells. In Aim 2, the study will address the regulation of post-translational modification in neural stem cells to understand its role in directing stem cell fate. Dr. Bieberich will be directly involved in accomplishment of Aim 2 of the study by contributing with expertise and performing experiments.
