Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Identify the sourcesofNPS contamination of groundwater in the Jackson PUrchase Region by selecting well-characterized sample sites, collecting and analyzing goundwater samples, and relating concentrationsa of NPS chemicals to well construction, depth and types of water-producing strata, land cover and land use, crop type if in an agricultural setting, proximity to on-site wastewater systems, and other factors that may promote or reduce activities or conditions conducive to NPS chemical use. This information mauy then be used to design and implement best management practices to reduce or eliminate NPS contamination of the groundwater supplies.
