Description

The content of effective hazard warning messages necessitates the combination of best-practice social science with the physical science that is requied to understand the source of the hazard, including the impact consequences, the time of impact, and the location of impact. This project will focus on 2011 Tohoku tsunami data to show how messages can be developed that increase specificity of geo-location, time to impact, and hazard impact, that can be integrated into the tsunami warning system.
