Health Education and Training Centers

The purpose of this grant application is to continue the development and enhancement of the KY Vulnerable Populatin Health Educ Training Ctr. The U of K Chandler Medical Center application outlines a proposal to develop an Easter KY HETC ( EKYHETC) that builds upon work already accomplished through the KY Vulnerable Populatin (KVP) HETC. Historically, the Univ. has received funding through a cooperative agreement with the U OF LO. The Med Center made the decision to submit a separate proposal due to the geographic and demographic differences between the easter and western regions of KY and the needs of the identified population groups. Because much of the newly emerging Latino population is concentrated in the central KY region and theAppalachian region of the state is located in eastern KY, the estabilshment of the EKYHETC will administratively simplify project management.
