Hip Joint Bone and Cartilage Bone and Cartilage Health and Mechanics in Patients with Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

KL2 Year 3 Abstract During this phase of the KL2 award, we will continue to collect and analyze data from our post-surgical patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS). We have obtained complete data sets (biomechanics, MRI and patient reported outcomes) for 8 patients with FAIS at the pre-surgical and for 5 of these patients at one-year post-surgery. Over the next 4 months, we will obtain the 2-year follow-up data (biomechanics and MRI) in this same cohort of patients. In addition, we seek to obtain additional pre-surgical datasets in order to aid our understanding of the FAIS disease process that causes hip- related cartilage degeneration and symptoms.
