The overarching goal of the GO KNOW NOW project is to improve access to, and use of, electronic HIV/AIDS information resources primarily for individuals living with HIV/AIDS who reside in Central and Eastern Kentucky. Funds from the award will be used to purchase computers which will be made available at AVOL (AIDS Volunteers, Inc.) -- an HIV/AIDS service organization serving clients in Central and Eastern Kentucky -- and Bluegrass Care Clinic (BCC) -- the University of Kentucky's HIV/AIDS outpatient clinic. In addition, training will be offered to clients/patients regarding use of select electronic HIV/AIDS information resources, including those produced and maintained by U.S. federal government agencies. Although outside the scope of this project, it is assumed that improved access to, and use of, electronic HIV/AIDS information resources will promote better informed decision-making where health and wellbeing are concerned.
