Description
Overview (limit to one page)
As the United States grapples with aging infrastructure amid surging demand, the imperative for
a circular economy and sustainable transportation infrastructure has never been more critical.
DataDOSE is a digital asset management platform, uniquely designed to empower state
Departments of Transportation (DOTs) – organizations rich in assets – to master their asset
portfolios and implement agile, data-driven investment strategies. DataDOSE stands out as an
all-encompassing system that centralizes asset data into a unified transportation asset
management framework, acting as the digital thread that binds all data related to the asset
throughout its lifecycle, from design to maintenance. This one-stop platform ensures that
transportation agencies can efficiently understand, collect, govern, and leverage data for strategic
decision-making. Structured around a robust four-step framework – Define, Organize, Strategize,
and Execute – DataDOSE enables comprehensive management of transportation assets,
optimizing both current operations and future planning.

Intellectual Merit
The intellectual merit of our proposal lies in its comprehensive approach to enhancing state
DOTs IT infrastructures. We aim to address critical challenges identified through an in-depth
assessment of current systems and their limitations. Our proposal evaluates the economic
viability and potential for widespread adoption of our technology, ensuring it is both financially
feasible and scalable across various DOT sizes and structures. Additionally, we explore strategies
to integrate and streamline federal requirements with our digital solutions, enhancing compliance
and communication processes. Our business model is tailored to be customizable,
accommodating the diverse needs of state DOTs, and focuses on high-security measures to
safeguard sensitive data. This approach underscores our commitment to advancing technological
solutions that improve the operational efficiency and regulatory compliance of transportation
asset management nationwide.
Broader Impacts
The broader impacts of this project are rooted in the innovative features of the proposed solution
to provide state DOTs with the foundation and capabilities to leverage asset decision-making to
better serve the public. DataDOSE enhances the capabilities of state DOTs through
comprehensive reporting and visibility, allowing them to provide transparent updates on
infrastructure status and initiatives. The platform centralizes and standardizes data, enabling
sophisticated analytical approaches like predictive analytics for infrastructure degradation, which
can preempt potential issues before they escalate. It also facilitates ongoing training for
employees, boosting their ability to manage and analyze asset data effectively, thereby improving
individual competency and elevating institutional knowledge. Ultimately, the effective
management of assets ensures that infrastructure remains reliable and safe, meeting public
demands and enhancing community satisfaction and quality of life by minimizing disruptions
and improving accessibility
