Abstract
IFTA - Development of a new Strategic Plan
Background
IFTA is a not-for-profit corporation that helps manage and administer the collection and distribution of fuel taxes from motor carriers through a cooperative agreement amongst 48 contiguous U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces. IFTA’s roles include managing a data repository and clearinghouse while also facilitating the allocation of funds collected from carriers between jurisdictions. IFTA is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of individuals from the member jurisdictions. It is staffed by a small but dedicated team of professionals.
Primary objectives
B.1. Facilitate a comprehensive review and analysis of our organization''s current state, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis).
B.2. Work collaboratively with the Strategic Plan Working Group and key stakeholders to develop a clear and compelling vision and mission statement.
B.3. Identify and prioritize key strategic goals and initiatives that align with our long-term vision and organizational values.
B.4. Provide guidance on crafting actionable strategies and initiatives that will drive the achievement of our strategic objectives.
B.5. Assist in developing a detailed implementation plan, including resource allocation and timeline, to ensure the successful execution of the strategic initiatives.
B.6. Help establish appropriate performance metrics and evaluation mechanisms to monitor progress and measure the success of the strategic plan.
B.7. Leverage the resources and expertise of IFTA staff, members, and the Strategic Plan Working Group to contribute to strategic planning development.
