SCOPE OF WORK: University of Kentucky Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative (ISQIC) The University of Kentucky (UK) will support the work of the Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative (ISQIC) through the involvement of Mark V. Williams, MD, FACP, MHM. Dr. Williams has considerable experience in implementing mentored quality and process improvement efforts in more than 60 hospitals in Illinois. Tasks will include the following: 1. Serve as a co]investigator, providing expertise on mentored implementation, quality improvement, teamwork, and transitions of care. 2. Serve as mentored implementation expert for the research team. Mentored implementation is a novel and important aspect of ISQIC. a. Guide and assist with the development of mentor training toolkit that is based on Dr. Williamsf prior efforts developing the Society of Hospital Medicinefs Mentor University b. Participate in development of the training for surgeon mentors so that they learn mentoring tactics and lessons from implementation science studies c. Participate in mentors calls to answer questions and provide guidance and general support on mentoring 3. Participate in the research teamfs monthly calls and conferences. Assist the research team with refinement of methods, implementation of the study, program evaluation, and interpretation of results. 4. Participate in developing reports, abstracts, peer]reviewed publications and other dissemination activities.
